Submitted Office add-in for approval, validation has taken 8 days... and counting. Is this normal?

We submitted an add-in to the Office store (just a simple PowerPoint add-in that controls your slideshow) and it has been in the "validation" step of the process for 8 days now. The website initially said 24-48 hours.

Has anything experiences anything similar? or does anyone have an idea of how long this should take?

    The validation process first has automated checks and then a review by the Validation team. The manual review can take 3-5 working days according to this article. It's currently a busy holiday season so I wouldn't be surprised if the review times are a bit higher than that.
