Routing inbound traffic with two NIC

Hello,

I have a Windows Server 2016 that serves as a firewall server. It has two Network Interface Controllers (NIC): an external and an internal. Unfortunately, the routing from the external to the internal adapter does not work - the other way round it does.

What could be the reason for this? I know it is a very general question. However, I could not find a proper answer yet. The NAT should actually be configured correctly in the RRAS. I have also configured a static route from the external to the internal NIC (or does it also work without)? The attempt with a network bridge was not successful, too. In principle, this can't be very complicated. So thank you for your feedback.

    Hi ,

    For routing from the external to the internal, we always use VPN.

    For port translation from the external to the internal , we always use NAT.

    If you want to routing from the external to the internal, you can deploy VPN in RRAS.
