Can't upgrade 2008 R2 server using the 2012 eval ISO...

I have a 2008 R2 server that I licensed using my MAPS subscription long ago. I still have MAPS but older versions of Windows Server are not available, only the latest are available for DL.

I can't seem to upgrade 2008 R2 using the 2012 eval ISO as it says upgrade from retail to trial version is not supported.

How can I upgrade my 2008 R2 server?? I need to get to at least 2012 (or beyond).
Thanks for any help.

You cannot use evaluation media to perform and in-place upgrade. Windows Server is not currently supported here on QnA. They're actively answering question in dedicated forums here.

Thanks for the info. I reposted in the server forum.
