Hi,

I have an oracle database that does daily backups with RMAN, but I also run dpm backups of the full vm.
When I do a restore using dpm, the oracle database is in active backup state, so I have to change the backup state before I can open the database.

  1. Can someone confirm that this is a supported backup method? Also why when I do a restore of the full vm, why is the database in an active backup state.?
  2. How can I verify that the database after I get it open is in a good state and has the latest backed up data?

Thx

    Hi,

Thanks for your post, according to your description, the issue seems related to DPM. While Windows Server backup forum is mainly related to Windows Server backup tool, and after research, it seems the original DPM forum has been closed. In this way, I would suggest you try to call the phone number in the below link and check if they support DPM.

    Thanks for your time!
    Best Regards,
    Anne
