SharePoint 2016 Calendar Event Date

When viewing an event which was created via SharePoint 2016 Calendar view I am able to view the Month and Day for the current year but the year itself is not displayed. However, if I go to the previous year, I am able to see the full Date including Month, Day and Year. Is this just the out of box settings for Calendars in SharePoint 2016? Is there any documentation on how to possibly change so that even for the current year events, it displays the date?

    In my SharePoint 2016 calendar list, I could see day, month and current year for events.
