OneDrive doesn't sync bookmarks

Me and some colleagues are working on a big document and using OneDrive to do it.
It mostly works ok, but one thing keeps happening:
Bookmarks are seldomly saved.
I've created hundreds of links in the text using bookmarks by this process:

  1. Select a text and use it to create a bookmark
  2. Select a different part of the text and create a link to the previously created bookmark.

The link is always saved, but even though I make sure that my version is saved onto the website, the bookmarks disappear and the link ends up leading nowhere.
I already tried comming into work at night and early to make sure I was the only one touching the document, and my version was saved in OneDrive, but then it always ends up saving everything but the bookmarks.

Can someone help?

    Hi @Rui Nogueira

    Is there any error message?
If there is, please provide a screenshot of it.

Does this issue occur on specific or all documents?

Please make sure to follow the Link to a bookmark part in "Add or delete bookmarks in a Word document or Outlook message" to check this issue.

You could create a new Word document without syncing to OneDrive to see if all bookmarks can be saved.

More information, you may refer to "Troubleshoot bookmarks".

Any updates, please let me know.
