Hi Experts,

I am using a Task Sequence to deploy an application on the Workstations as required. When Scheduling the Task Sequence there is a time frame provided for the Application from 6PM to 8PM and the occurence is set for daily, where 6PMis the availability time for the Application and 8 PM is the expiry time. Based on this I have two questions.

  1. If suppose the machine was not online between 6-8 PM, then will the deployment run automatically on the machine whenever it gets online next.
  2. If 8 PM is the expiry time, and the recurrence is set to Daily, then will the Task Sequence run again the next day on the Workstations which were offline on the previous day.

Exactly as you'd expect. It would recur after the available time according the recurrence pattern defined in the schedule until the expiration.

For what you have above, the deployment will only be enforced a single time (5/6/2021 @ 1200) making the recurrence pattern moot.

    1. No as that's part the expiration.
    2. No. Same answer, it's past the expiration.

If you want to constrain the time of day when a deployment is enforced you can use maintenance windows although this will potentially impact all deployments or you can include a custom check at the beginning of the TS that exits the TS if it's not within the desired timeframe.

    Hi @Garima Das ,

Agree with Jason, according to your screenshot, the deployment will only be enforced a single time (5/6/2021 @ 1200) making the recurrence pattern moot. We should extend the expiration time, for example, 5/12/2021 2:00PM and occurs every 1 days effective 5/6/2021 12:00PM, which means it will run once a day until 5/12/2021 2:00PM.

And about maintenance windows mentioned, we could refer to this article:
