Surface book 3 randomly crashes

I just bought the surface book 3 a couple of days ago for school, and on day one I noticed a glaring issue. The surface book 3 randomly crashes without warning. The crashes aren't due to the the laptop being over heating because the highest temperate I felt it at post crash is room temperature and I have yet to use the laptop in intensive programs. It's a great product, but I can't go one day without losing files due to it freezing and having to reset the thing. Is there a way to fix this?
