Hello,
trying to sysprep a clean VM installation of Windows 10 20H2, I get the above error.
Full setupact.log says:
SYSPRP Sysprep_Clean_Validate_Opk: Audit mode cannot be turned on if reserved storage is in use. An update or servicing operation may be using reserved storage.; hr = 0x800F0975
Does anyone know what this is about?
Many thanks
G.

@Gabs
Hi,
Refer to the log “An update or servicing operation may be using reserved storage”, It’s reasonable that any modification can be performed while the target file is being used.
Firstly, this error is probably caused by proceeding update or service, so we can wait it to complete or disable the update or service manually. as you are working in VM, set a checkpoint to reassure.
1, Open windows update in search, then click check for updates, meanwhile open Task Manager in search, wait Tasks (install module, antimalware, etc.) to finish
2, Otherwise, you can stop using the Windows Update temporarily by disconnect the Internet. As you are using VM, you can set the Internet adapter to default.
If above methods don’t help. You can try the command in powershell which helps to diasble the Reserved Storage.
DISM.exe /Online /Set-ReservedStorageState /State:Disabled
(you can visit the following Link for detailed info DISM Storage reserve command-line options | Microsoft Learn)
Hope above information can help you.

Windows update was the cause for me
Disabling (pausing) Windows update did not resolve this issue for me, does anyone have any further ideas? When I run "DISM /Online /Set-ReservedStorageState /State:Disabled" I also get an error:
Error: 0x800f0975
This operation is not supported when reserved storage is in use. Please wait for any servicing operations to complete and then try again later.
Even when Windows update was on, all updates had been completed.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Complete all updates then run the command to disable reserved storage. Restart system. You should be all set Ater the restart.
