According to this documentation https://video2.skills-academy.com/da-dk/fslogix/configure-office-container-tutorial - UPD and and FSlogix Office containers only works in include mode. We have testet this in our testinvironment and this is unfortunately correct.

We need to use the exclude mode because of other apps that will not run in include mode. The date of the announcement in the above link is November 2018. Is there any updates regarding getting UPD and FSLogix Office containers working in exclude mode?

    Hello @Søren Thestrup ,

1.Are you running FSLogix and UPD together in your environment?
2.What's the registry configuration of your fslogix profile container and office container?

    FYI: https://christiaanbrinkhoff.com/2018/08/17/how-to-use-microsoft-upd-and-fslogix-office-365-containers-to-roam-onedrive-sharepoint-outlook-and-search-on-remote-desktop-services/

I'll make further confirmation with our internal fslogix team for your question, thanks for your precious time.

    Best regards,

    Hi Leila
    Thank you for reaching out.

My problem directly relates to the first link you sent (https://christiaanbrinkhoff.com/2018/08/17/how-to-use-microsoft-upd-and-fslogix-office-365-containers-to-roam-onedrive-sharepoint-outlook-and-search-on-remote-desktop-services/)

In here the exact problem is described regarding the way OneDrive interprets symlinks in "UPD include mode" and in "UPD exclude mode". OneDrive only works with UPD/FSLogix when the OS thinks the user profile is locally installed, and with junction points, the OS sees that it it not locally installed.

This quote is taken from the article above "Although, currently it isn’t possible to remove the junction point from the C:\Users\USERNAME folder location with the exclusion option – because of a bug (see the TechNet Forum article below) in UPD exclusions are not working upon the normal User Profile inclusions."

So my question remains - when will there be a workaround or fix the this bug?

Because the above I am not sure that answers to question 1 and 2 are relevant - but here it comes anyway😊

    1. Yes. UPD in exclude mode (because we have to) and FSLogix Office containers. FSLogix profile containers are not enabled. The RDS servers are Windows 2019 by the way.
    2. The relevant settings for OneDrive is of course to enable Office containers and include OneDrive data in container. This works fine - it is the junctionpoint that is the problem.

    Thanks in advance
    Best regards
    Søren
