Azure DMA tool for Postgres ?

Whenever we migrate on-premises SQL server to Azure, we use the Azure DMA (data Migration Assistant) Or the DMS
The DMA assessment gives if any migration blockers etc .

If i have to migrate on-premises Postgres DB into Azure Postgres database option, do i have any assessment tool

The Azure Database Migration Service (DMS) is capable of migrating on-premise PostgreSQL instances to Azure Database for PostgreSQL.

You can use Azure Database Migration Service to migrate the databases from an on-premises PostgreSQL instance to Azure Database for PostgreSQL with minimal downtime.

Hi @MS Techie , In addition to @Leon Laude answer ,Also note that the target Azure Database for PostgreSQL version must be equal to or later than the on-premises PostgreSQL version. For example, PostgreSQL 9.6 can migrate to Azure Database for PostgreSQL 9.6, 10, or 11, but not to Azure Database for PostgreSQL 9.5. Migrations to PostgreSQL 13+ are not supported at this time.

Hi @Oury Ba-MSFT

My point is before the migration , we need to assess the compatibility of moving that specific Postgres to Azure Postgres SQL.
For SQL , we have the DMA , which gives us assessment before moving via DMS

Similarly for Postgres, is there any assessment before migrating to Azure Postgres SQL ?

Hi @MS Techie Postgres to Azure Postgres is homogeneous no need for assessment.
