How to update bids for keywords with same id?

I have 2 keywords in an adgroup with the same text but different match type. They have been assigned the same id. Using the UpdateKeywords operation of the Campaign Management API, I am able to update bids for only one of these keywords. If I try to pass the match type of the keyword - to distinguish between the two and update the other one - I get the following error:

Error code - "CampaignServiceKeywordMatchTypeChangeNotAllowedInUpdate"
Error msg - "You cannot change the match type on which you bid when you update a Keyword object."

How do I update the bids for these keywords using the API?
