@RakshithaRamachandra-3880 For testing purpose can you try with different path location and also try deleting the following files from your home directory (i.e. C:\Users\ContosoUser), and install
.adalcache
.devaccounts
.extaccounts
Make sure that your proxy doesn't block traffic to Azure management or resource endpoints.
Verify the authentication protocol used by your proxy server. Storage Explorer does not currently support NTLM proxies.? If the issue still persist, I would like to work closer on this issue

I have the same problem, since the last update. I was trying to uninstall the app and install again, but the problem appears during installation.
Are you able to help me?
I tried installing in a different path. It worked without errors.
I'm not allowed to delete the Contoso user as it's a work computer

You need to install other version, look my comment how i could solve that problem.
I had the same problem and I couldn't solve it, I think the problem is the version of Azure Storage Explorer 1.2 for that reason I decided to download other version, I downloaded the v1.19.1 version, this is the link of the version: https://github.com/microsoft/AzureStorageExplorer/releases/tag/V1.19.1

Make sure that the currently logged in user has read/write permission on the path C:Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Programs\Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer\
'Yes, I do have those permissions. I see the same error when I run the installer as an admin too.

Also, is this an upgrade or a clean install? If an upgrade, can they try to uninstall the old version first then try to install again.
