    @Elizabeth Ruchtenfeld

    I suggest you check which subscription of Microsoft 365 for business did you purchase.
    To find this information, please login your licensed account into Microsoft My account > Subscriptions > Check the license for "The latest desktop version of Office".

    If it is Microsoft 365 Business Basic, this subscription does not include Desktop versions of Office apps for PC and Mac. For more, you could refer to "Microsoft 365 for business".
    Then you could check this artcile is helpful, "Upgrade to a different plan", please note, this action need the admin permission.

    But, if it is a subscription includes Desktop versions of Office apps, and your account subscription shows the license "The latest desktop version of Office", please try following steps.

    • Open an Office app > Click your account in the upper left corner > Sign out your account > Go back to Office app, and sign in your account.
    • Please try to clear credential caches and reactivate Office for Mac.
      Open finder > Click Go on the top menu bar > Go to folder > Enter the following path: ~/library/Group Containers/
      Right-click each of the folders below if present, and then click move to trash.
      UBF8T346G9.ms
      UBF8T346G9.Office
      UBF8T346G9.OfficeOsfWebHost
      Then restart Office, sign in with your account.
    • If the steps above do not work, it's recommended to remove Office license files and uninstall Office on Mac, then restart machine to re-install Office on Mac.

    Any updates, you may post back.
