Hi There,
Is there a way to import Claim Descriptions into ADFS from a backup. I realise I can backup/export them to a file using Get-ADFSClaimDescription | Out-File “.\claimDesc.txt” but I'm not aware of a way to re-import them.
I intend to make a number of Claim description additions and if anything goes south I'd like a backout plan that involves an easy rollback process.
Is this possible?

Take a look on the AD FS Rapid Restore Tool. We use it to mirror our production enviroment to lab.
Yeah, I already looked at that but the way I read it the restore function is intended for creating a new ADFS farm on new servers where I want simply want to restore an existing ADFS farm/config. Does this tool allow for that scenario too?
I understand the Microsoft Learn article so, that szenario 1) or 2) match your request.
It does not matters, If you restore the backup on a dev or prod environment.
Are you saying that if I ran the "Restore-ADFS" command on the primary ADFS server of an already existing farm it will over
it will work and essentially roll back to my previous config?
If you have a functionally AD FS farm the answer ist Yes. A restore with the tool is done for all AD FS servers in the farm.
The first time I recommend backing up the servers beforehand. Alternatively mirror the prod servers for a test enviorment and play through the possible scenarios.
