Whenever I attempt to connect to my console through remote play, either through browser or the xbox app the connection will be attempted, succeed and then do everything correct except show a black screen with no audio, I've tried quite a few things including fulling resetting my console and also reinstalling the app on my pc. I have attempted to change power settings and ask in multiple places but have received no solution or response.

Thanks for the details, Emily! Just to verify, you mentioned you fully reset your console, did you choose keep games and apps or remove everything? Or are you actually referring to a hard reset where you turn off the console and unplug everything from it, wait 2 minutes, then re-plug everything?

    Best regards,

    Kimberly

It may be trying to output to a display or resolution that the stream can't handle. Try this, just follow the steps and test it after.

Connect your console to a TV/monitor normally.

Go to Settings → General → TV & display options.

    Try:

    • Set Resolution to 1080p (not 4K).
    • Disable HDR10 and Auto HDR temporarily.
    • Disable Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).

Save and reboot your Xbox, then retry Remote Play.
