for the last couple days my Copilot app has been unresponsive to both the copilot keyboard shortcut, Windows +c and through the taskbar where it was pinned but now the logo has gone with a blank space i am unable to open it through the search function in the taskbar either. Has their been a change to the copilot Ai function or is this a system failure with my Galaxy Edgebook 4 ?

    Dear Tom Anderson,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum.

This is a system failure, not a deliberate change or removal of the Copilot function by Microsoft.

You could try following these steps below to solve this issue:

    1. Disable the Samsung "Quick Search Service":
      • Press the Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
      • Type msconfig and press Enter to open the System Configuration window.
      • In the new window, click on the Services tab.
      • At the bottom of the window, check the box labeled Hide all Microsoft services. This is a critical step to ensure you do not disable an essential Windows process.
      • In the remaining list of services, find the service named Quick Search Service. The "Manufacturer" will be listed as "Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.".
      • Uncheck the box next to this service to disable it.
      • Click Apply > OK.
      • You will be prompted to restart your computer. Please restart your PC for the change to take effect.
    2. Check taskbar personalization settings:
      • Right-click on an empty space on your taskbar and select Taskbar settings.
      • Under the "Taskbar items" section, look for "Copilot (preview)" or "Copilot".
      • If the toggle is On, turn it Off, wait a few seconds, and then turn it On again.
      • If the toggle is Off, turn it On.
      • The icon should immediately reappear on your taskbar. Check if it is responsive.
    3. Repair or reset the Copilot app:
      • Press the Windows + I to open the Settings app.
      • Go to Apps > Installed apps.
      • In the app list, find and click on Microsoft Copilot.
      • Click the three dots (···) and select Advanced options.
      • Scroll down and first try the Repair.
      • If "Repair" does not work, return to this menu and select Reset.

Please understand that our initial reply may not always immediately resolve the issue. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution. Thank you for your cooperation.
