My outlook.com email account says I'm out of storage but onedrive says I'm not. How do I get outlook.com to update

My outlook.com email account says I am out of storage so cannot send or receive emails. But when I look at onedrive or my email storage, neither are full.

Context: I accidentally added a large folder to onedrive which took my account over the limit. Upon realising, I deleted the large folder and emptied the recycle bin. My email account continues to say I'm over the limit, despite my onedrive no longer being over the limit.

How can I fix this?

    Hello,

Can you go to https://account.live.com, sign into the same account, then expand the section that says Microsoft storage, is that section looking ok?

How long ago did you clear that large folder in OneDrive? It can take some time for it to reflect to your email storage.
