I believe there is a button to detach screen from keyboard, yes? Where is it?

First, you can check your device model by pressing Windows + R, typing msinfo32, and hitting Enter. You can also use dxdiag in the Run dialog to view detailed system information.

Carl, thanks for yoru response. The model # is 1964 i7 for this Surface Studio. The 4 buttons on the top far right right include "Pg up, Pg Dn, the power button and Del". Nothing displays "detach".

Thanks for clarifying. The Surface Laptop Studio model 1964 i7 does not have a detachable screen. It uses a dynamic woven hinge that allows the display to move into different positions, but it cannot separate from the base.
You can switch between:
Laptop mode for standard use with keyboard and trackpad
Stage mode by pulling the screen forward for media or presentations
Studio mode by laying the screen flat over the keyboard for drawing or touch input
If you need a Surface device with a fully detachable screen, consider the Surface Pro or Surface Book models.
