I am currently trying to leverage NetApp files for application storage in Azure and things are working using standalone DFS namespaces. However, I am wondering if there may be an alternative solution (perhaps utilizing DNS) since this adds slight management overhead and is also a potential single point of failure.

@AmanpreetSingh-MSFT Alternative solution instead of using the standalone DFS namespace for the Azure NetApp File.

Configure a CNAME record for the SMB volume in your DNS server and then register SPN (Service Principal Name) for the CNAME of the SMB volume on my Domain Controller. Please refer to the documentation here for more details Can't access SMB file server - Windows Server | Microsoft Learn
