Hyper-V showed This PC can't run Windows 11

Dear experts,

I've enabled TPM 2.0 in my HP laptop but when I tried to create a VM for Win11, it always showed that it didn't meet the system requirement.

I had the same problem, But it was because I didn't enable the TPM on hyper-v.

After I use the following method and enabled TPM, it solved my problem.

Steps to Enable Virtual TPM:

Open Hyper-V Manager

You can search for "Hyper-V Manager" in the Start Menu and open it.

Select the Virtual Machine

  - In the Hyper-V Manager, click on the VM you want to configure. Note that the VM must be turned off to modify the security settings including vTPM.
  
  **Open VM Settings**
  
     - Right-click the selected VM and choose "Settings" from the context menu.
     
     **Modify Security Settings**
     
        - Navigate to the "Security" category in the settings menu on the left-hand side.
        
        **Enable Virtual TPM**
        
           - Check the box labeled “Enable Trusted Platform Module.” This will add a virtual TPM to your virtual machine.

Apply Changes and Start the VM

Click "Apply" and then "OK" to save your changes. Now, you can start your VM with the virtual TPM enabled.

1.Right Click the virtual machine
2.Click Settings
3.Click Security
4.Mark ‘Enable Trusted Platform Module
5.Click Processor
6.Change ‘Number of virtual processors’ to a minimum of ‘2’

So when you tell Hyper-V to create a Win 11 VM it configures the environment so that Win 11 fails to install? You have to laugh - Windows - designed to fail

Hmmm Ran into the same issue, but I don't see #4 "Mark ‘Enable Trusted Platform Module" . That setting does not exist. All I see is "Encryption Support" Tried toggling that on/off and no difference.

That may be due to your computer's TPM being disabled in the UEFI, or the lack of one. When you go to Device Manager, do you see a device category called "Security devices"?

To be crystal clear, this works when creating a "Generation 2" virtual machine.

This DOES NOT WORK when attempting to create a "Generation 1" VM

For the record, it's been consistent for me so far that it'll fire up Windows 11 Pro if the following specifications are met:

TPM enabled

2+ virtual processors

4096 minimum RAM (if using dynamic memory, minimum needs to be 2048MB but, in the top Memory box, you've gotta have 4096GB.

Hyper-V on Server 2022 is still too stupid to notify you (or automatically set) these minimums, and, of course, Microsoft's URL at aka.ms\WIndowsSysReq couldn't be more vague and open-ended (because Microsoft).

And check you have enough allocated RAM

Windows is smart enough to tell you that it cannot be installed, but too dumb to tell you why.

Hyper-V is too dumb to set the correct minimum RAM requirements.

Honestly Microsoft, you can do much better.

THIS was my problem. My Windows 11 VM was installed and running and never had an issue. I just recently noticed it was telling me in the Windows Insight Program settings that it didn't meet the minimum requirements for Windows 11 and I was so confused. I had recently added a couple of VMs and lowered the amount of RAM the Windows 11 VM was allowed to use. Changed that setting back to allow it to use more RAM and the issue went away. Crazy... Thank you!
