Hello,

I'm investigating possibility to give users ability of co-editing documents stored on the custom storage server. Server already can work with Office Online (via WOPI) also we have VSTO add-in that can open/save documents from/to server via REST API.

As I understood from this and this posts, server should support MS-FSSHTTP protocol and this ok. But I did not find any info about how how to integrate it with desktop Office app. Is there any documentation about that? In particular I'm interested in the following:

  • Is it possible at all?
  • How Office app connects to the cloud storage? Our server has it's own set of users, and server user is not related to user's Office account.
  • How Office app understands that document is stored on the MS-FSSHTTP server?
  • In Office Online we are able to show custom form to select emails/users with whom document should be shared. Is there a way to do the same in desktop Office? Thanks,
    Volodymyr
