Windows 10 PCs not displaying Windows Server 2012 in Windows Explorer

I have a client that just upgraded a few Windows 7 PCs to Windows 10 Pro and has one new Windows 10 pro box on a client-server network. Since they moved from Windows 7 to 10 on the workstations, they cannot see the Windows Server 2012 (domain controller) in the Windows Explorer on the workstations. This is intermittent. Sometimes it's there sometimes it isn't. However, it will display when you type the path in the address bar (\servername).

For the newer OS's enabling network discovery may help.

Check these services are started on all members DNS Client, Function Discovery Resource Publication, SSDP Discovery UPnP Device Host and also check the firewalls allow Network Discovery for the network profile you're using (in my example below using domain).

    Hi,

In regards to your issue, following is my suggestions:

    1. Open administrative tools> Services> Turn on these features and change the startup type to Automatic
      Function discovery resource publication
      Function discovery provider host
      SSDP discovery
      UPnp device host

    2. Turn on network discovery& file and printer sharing

3.If these methods doesn’t work, you can turn SMB1.0 feature on: Run ‘optionalfeatures”> Click the SMB 1.0
