Hi

I have some issues figuring exactly which type of billing is behind a specific subscription.

We have 8 subscriptions, all 8 was created using the EA portal, however one of them are named dev/test, which leads me to believe that it was created as a dev/test subscription.

I have not been able to find anywhere in the portal or using powershell where i could either confirm or deny this what type it is.

So question: How can i verify if a subscription from the EA portal was created as a dev/test or just a default production subscription?

    @Martin Meiner Tästensen -
    Thanks for getting back to us by providing more clarification.

    Here are some steps to try:

    • Sign in the Azure portal > Navigate to Subscriptions > Select the subscription.
    • That takes you to the subscription page for the selected subscription.
    • Look at the offer ID (offer number) code.
    • EA dev/test is offer code MS-AZR-0148P.
    • Pay-as-you-go dev test is offer code MS-AZR-0023P. For other subscription code IDs, check out understand-cost-mgt-data

    @Martin Meiner Tästensen - Thanks for reaching out.

    If you are looking to find out which type of account it is, then

    • Login to Azure portal
    • Search on Cost Management + Billing.

    • If you have access to just one billing scope, select Properties from the left-hand side.

    The Billing account type on the properties page determines the type of your account. It can be Microsoft Online Service Program, Enterprise Agreement, Microsoft Customer Agreement, or Microsoft Partner Agreement. To learn more about the type of billing accounts, see View your billing accounts in Azure portal.

    • If you have access to multiple billing scopes, check the type in the Billing account type column.

    Hope that helps.

    @Monalla-MSFT

    Thanks for the response.

    I need one level further down, than just the billing type.

    Specific, when talking in the EA portal, you have the option (if enabled) to create a dev/test subscription or a normal prod subscription.

    The dev/test have some advantages on pricing - but does require you to have a visual studio subscription for each user who develops or uses it (with a few exceptions). My issue is that i can't figurere out where i can see if a subscription from an EA enrollment has been created as a normal subscription or as a dev/test subscription.

    And just to clarify: This customer is being moved from EA to CSP, but since CSP does not offer the same option for a dev/test subscription, i need to find out if the subscription in question is a dev test (and thus: would be more expensive in CSP), or not.
