I'm trying to copy data from one excel file into another and I keep getting an error: Microsoft Excel cannot paste the data.
How can I fix this?

What are the contents of the cells? Do you have a link to external data? Do a simple test. In the source sheet, select a cell and just type in a few numbers. Then copy and paste that cell into the destination sheet. Does that work? Then select a row of the source sheet and try to copy that. See if you can identify which cell or cells is causing your problem. You can also try the "paste special" dialog and just paste the values to see if that works.
Did the data you want to paste contain any merged cells? What version of Office did you use? Did this problem appear in all Excel Workbooks? Please be a bit more precise to explain your problem or you can upload a screenshot so that I can get more accurate solutions to this problem.
