Cannot add custom domain to Azure Front Door

For my Azure Front Door (classic) I would like to add a custom domain/frontend. Following the docs I created a CNAME record for 'mycustomdomain.com' that points to 'myfrontdoor.azurefd.net' (it's a non-production domain so creating a temporary afdverify record is not needed) with Cloudflare, where I manage my DNS. That record has been created more than 48 hours ago so DNS propagation should be ok by now.

When I try to add the custom domain, and fill in the 'Custom host name' I get the following error message:

A CNAME record for 'mycustomdomain.com' that points to 'myfrontdoor.azurefd.net' could not be found. Before you can associate a domain with this Front Door, you need to create a CNAME record with your DNS provider for 'mycustomdomain.com' that points to 'myfrontdoor.azurefd.net'.

What could be the problem here?

@JJ , Generally CNAME propagation takes some time. Hope your issue got resolved by now. If not, I would advise you to check your register configuration was set properly for the right CNAME. Also, for a quick check you can hover over to this third-party URL https://www.whatsmydns.net/ to see your CNAME propagations were correct.

Your page can only be live once the CNAME record has fully propagated. If you followed all the steps above and the CNAME has not propagated, we recommend contacting your registrar to check why the record is not propagating even though it has been created correctly.
