Production Drive vanished after running Azure Backup File Recovery program

I ran the Azure Backup File Recovery application to mount a backup as virtual drives on a Windows 2019 Server I wanted to restore files to. The server mounted The OS volume as well as a System Reserved volume, but did not mount the Data volume that actually had the files I wanted to recover. I ran the Step 3 in the application to unmount the backup drives at that time.

When I did that, the mounted virtual backup drives were removed as expected, but the actual Data drive holding my production data was also disconnected. I could not see it in the Windows Disk Manager at that time either. It was showing as attached in the Azure Drive management console for that VM. I then rebooted the VM and the missing drive was back online. I was able to recover the files I needed from a different machine, and the backup mounting program worked as expected on that machine. I do think this is an unexpected issue that needs to be looked at further. I am happy to provide any requested logs to help troubleshoot this.
