Alert Icon for team members until information has been viewed by team members

Establishing a communication channel where as all updated information can be added and viewed by all team members. We work with student employees and information gets missed. Reason being, when a team member of a channel views information the alert icon disappears, therefore, students do not know new information is available to them.
How can we get the alert icon to stay for each individual member, until viewed by member?

    As I know, the alert icon is not related to other members in the same channel. You can get the alert icon even if other members view the information.

    Make sure that when you post message in channels, it needs to mention the whole channel or someone.
