No, they must go through the standard upgrade process of SharePoint 2010 -> 2013, run Upgrade-SPSite -> 2016.
SharePoint 2010 sites (and their saved cmps) do not have the same schema as 2013 and up.

Our organization is still using SharePoint 2010. Shortly, we shall migrate to SP 2016. We have many SharePoint 2010 archived sites - cmp files. Can they be restored in SharePoint 2016. If yes, what is the process - PowerShell Script?
Thanks a bunch.

Thanks. What is involved in "standard upgrade process." How is that done?
It’s a 2-stage procedure as there is no direct upgrade from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2016. First, must upgrade from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013 and then from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint 2016.
