Hi,
Recently my SCOM 2012 and its SQL database had to be restored from backup due to a disaster that happened. I did a google search to only run some repair commands for SQL, and that's pretty much what I did for the SQL portion.
On the Operations Console/ OS level, I reset all the service account passwords that SCOM is using. will update this portion when I have more info at work because I am typing this from home. I re-entered the credentials for the runas accounts that SCOM is using.
I would like to ask the experts here if there is anything else that I am missing out? Because my SCOM is not working normally. I do have some dashboards for my ops centre to monitor my servers and it is not getting any data/update.

I have been doing some searching on my own as well and looking up the logs as to what potential errors I might find. I keep seeing this repeated error;
"Login failed for user xxxx Reason: Could not find a login matching the name provided [client : SCOM IP address]"
The username it is referring to is the account used for data warehouse. The password has been updated on the AD, but I do not know where to update it on SCOM or SQL.
My second question for this error message is, am I right to say SCOM is trying to login to SQL using the data warehouse service account?
@Anonymous For the login error, based on my experience, it can be that the credential for the Run As Account associated with Run As Profile "Data Warehouse Account" is not correct. Give the situation, please go to Operation Console->Administration->Run As Configuration->Profiles, find "Data Warehouse Account", right click it and choose Properties, Check the Run As Account associated with it. And go to Run As Configuration->Accounts, Find the account and change the user Credential under its Credentials tab under Properties.
Please try the above steps and if there's any update, feel free to let us know.
I have done that already. But it doesn't work.
Why did you change the account credentials?
You must use the same parameter values for account credentials, management group, and database names as the failed server you are trying to recover.
Could you also check if the affected user account is under the logins of the SQL instance?
I changed it because I don't know what was the password. So I changed all the accounts used by scom for record purposes.

I have found the solution to my scom problem. Basically I deleted the dw account on scom console and recreate it again.
Now I have another issue. My scom console dashboard is not displaying any data.

From your description, I know the previous error is gone by recreating the dw account. Thanks for the sharing.
Currently, the console not displaying any data. Would you mind to restart the server and see fi it will be well? If the issue still persists, please check the Operations Manager event log to see if there's any error.

Hi. Restarting didn't work. Not sure what else I can check.
Just to share more on my environment...Currently, it is connected to 2 other domains and a few workgroup servers. There are several gateway servers for different networks and unfortunately, through this incident there were some gateway servers that were affected as well and had to be restored from backup.
The performance data dashboard that I need to have information is for the ops centre team for monitoring exchange servers that are of a different domain. Of course, before the incident, everything works fine.
I have done some reading up on my own as well and have tried the clearing cache method but it doesn't work. I'm thinking if it's something to do with SCOM not able to process the performance data to display it as a graph or something along that line. Heck, I can't even generate utilization reports.

I understand that there's some issue after restoring from backup. Based on my experience, as there may be many changed after that, so it may cause some issues.
For the issue with exchange performance monitor, as it is located in another domain, Would like to confirm if it is monitored by one Gateway server? If yes, we suggest to check if the Gateway server is Healthy in SCOM? Is the Exchange server showing healthy in SCOM? Would like to double confirm if the Performance data will be collected before?
Please help to confirm the above information and if there's anything unclear, feel free to let us know.
