On 31 August 2024, five Azure classic networking services will be retired and no longer supported: classic Virtual Network, reserved IP addresses, Azure ExpressRoute gateway, classic Application Gateway, and classic VPN Gateway.

Before that date, you’ll need to migrate your classic resources to corresponding Azure Resource Manager (ARM) based networking resource.

How can I tell if I have classic items? Is there a way to find a list? Like just looking at the Virtual Networks in my subscription doesn't tell me anything.

Incidentally, creating the support request the "Migration" problem type didn't exist for me.

The documentation for the Classic VM deprecation suggested using Azure Resource Graph to query the list of classic VMs.

For example:

resources | where type == "microsoft.classiccompute/virtualmachines"

The Categories list in the Azure management portal has a number of "(classic)" resources, including "Virtual machines (classic)." I searched for "(classic)" and queried each of them individually.

@ChaitanyaNaykodi-MSFT I searched my Directory and didn't find any "(classic)" resources in use through Azure Resource Graph. I received the recent notification that I use Azure classic networking resources. Searching the subscription I received the notification for, the only resource in that old subscription is an Azure Relay. Would a Relay trigger the notification alone? Is it possible that the notification was triggered off of resources that we've removed since the subscription was scanned?

@James Klauser I tried it and it came back with nothing. Now sure what you mean by queried "(classic)" I'm pretty new graph.

I just put "(Classic)" in the search box.

There's a search field just above the resource list to the left side of the query dialog box. I entered "(classic)" and it gave me a nice list of resources.

We have 0 VM's in our environment and 0 resources show up in the portal when searching on '(classic)', so how do we tell why we are receiving this notification?

To migrate to corresponding ARM based networking resource, follow the guidance in the link provided for each of the mentioned classic networking resource below:

• Classic Virtual Network
• Reserved IP Address
• Classic ExpressRoute Gateway
• Classic Application Gateway
• Classic VPN Gateway
