Office Standard 2019 is not updating

I've searched the net for this issue and while I didn't find anything useful, I'm betting I'm not the only one dealing with this.

I installed Office Standard 2019 C2R back in November of 2018 on a Windows 2016 RDS server. When I check the current version of Office 2019 it shows Version 1810 (Build 11001.20038 Click-to-Run). Which, if I'm correct, is the version that was available in November of 2018. Although I'll admit I'm not certain this is accurate since the referenced documentation is under Microsoft 365 and not Office 2019.

Yes ... I'm doing my very best to make sure everything I'm looking for is based on Office Standard 2109 C2R and not any of the subscription based 365 products.

It took me a little while to find when my version of 1810 was release ... the confusing part is that another Microsoft reference shows the latest version to be 1808 (August 2020).

I'm somewhat certain my server has not received any updates and that our current Office Standard 2019 C2R running version 1810 is an older release. We do have Updates set to "automatically download and install". And if I click on "update now" ... I get an orange bar that goes back and forth a couple of times and then disappears.

Assuming I have an earlier version of Office Standard 2019 C2R ... and assuming the updates are not being applied for whatever reason ... is there a way to manually update Office Standard 2019?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
Did you install Office 365 before?
Please go to control panel and check if the Office product name is Office 2019, you can provide the screenshot here.
Then please try these steps to confirm if you have other version of Office product key still existed:

    1. In an elevated command window, run the cd command based on your install location:
      32-bit Office installed on a 64-bit operating system: cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16

    Others:

    cd C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16

    1. Run the following cscript command: cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus

The ospp.vbs command generates a report of the licenses currently in use. The output is in this format:

If there are several versions of Office here, try to remove these keys:

Take note of the Last 5 characters of the installed product key.

cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:"Last 5 of installed product key"

Repeat the command until all keys are removed.

After these steps please repair Office 2019 and restart Windows.
