Some secondary sites display that they have more than 1 site server when they really only have 1. I noticed this when looking at site system count in boundary groups.

My guess is that previously removed secondary site servers are somehow still in the database or something. Out of about 10 secondary sites, 5 list that they have 2 site servers when they really only have 1.

Also, when I view things like client data source dashboard, it lists these same sites as having 2 distribution points but again, they only have a single server in real life.

What can I do to identify the cause of this and how can I get it back in order and accurate?

Thank you in advance!

    Hi Colin,

    Thanks for posting in Q&A.

    1. May we know if the site server or site system of our secondary site was deleted?
Site Server: This main role contains components and services required to run a central administration, primary, or secondary site.
Site System: This role supports both required and optional site system roles. Any server (or share) with an assigned role automatically receives this role.
    2. If we uninstalled our site server, could we know which method we used to uninstall our secondary site?
If we uninstalled our site system roles, our secondary site may not be useful because the core components have been deleted.

Here is a helpful article for your reference:

    3. Each primary and secondary site supports up to 250 distribution points.Maybe we could see the ConfigMgrSetup.log file and hman.log file on Primary site server to monitor the uninstallation process.
Here is a guide to remove the secondary site:
