Custom Field Cannot Be Displayed In Views

I have Office 365 (up to date).

I am using my Contact folder with a local PST file on my computer.

I have a custom form with multiple custom fields.

Using the control toolbox I added a combo box using the Microsoft Forms 2.0 control. I then added a new text field with the possible values, etc.

I see the field in the contact form and all is OK. As soon as I try to display the new field in the folder using a table display, no data displays. When I remove the field, all the data displays in the table view.

I created a new view with just that new field and no data displays.

I have repaired the PST file multiple times.

Other fields of the same type are appearing with no issues.

Any suggestions why my new custom field does not appear in my views?

Shawn

    JadeLiang:

    Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately no matter what I tried it would not work. I had to create a new PST file and new form to get it to work.

With the old PST file, I tried new folders, new forms, new fields (also would not display in any view type), etc. I also tried repairing my PST multiple times, but still no luck. Maybe the form and/or my PST file was bad.

Again, I really appreciated your help.

Thanks for visiting our forum, here we mainly focus on general issues about Outlook desktop client.

I am using my Contact folder with a local PST file on my computer.

Do you mean that you have a Contact list which is imported from the local PST file?

As soon as I try to display the new field in the folder using a table display, no data displays. When I remove the field, all the data displays in the table view.

Can this new field be displayed normally in other views except table views?
According to your description, it seems that your issue is more related to the specific text field you mentioned. So, what is this specific new field? I did a lot of search about your issue but have not found any similar issues. To better solve your issue, please provide more information related to this specific new field for further research.

Besides, from Outlook Client's point of view, we usually create a custom form directly in Outlook client via the steps below, please check this method and see if it could be helpful to you.

    1. Enable the Developer ribbon(File>Options>Customize Ribbon>add a check to Developer)
    2. Click your contact folder, under developer options, you can choose design this form/ design a form to create a contact form.
    3. Publish your form and apply it to your folder(Folder>Properties>General>When posting this folder, use…)

Any updates about your issue, please feel free to post back.

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate you taking the time.

    • The steps you noted above and publishing are the same steps that I follow. My form is saved in my Personal Forms Library folder.
    • I am updating a current form so all current folders already use the required custom form when posting.
    • I did not test "Can this new field be displayed normally in other views except table views" as I only use table views in Outlook.

The one difference is I usually add my new field after I create my drop down. The New button is usually what I would click on to add my text field

I will try to first add my field in the Field Choose and then using the Choose Field select the new field for the combo box control to see if that resolved the issue.
