Outlook meeting invitations

Good morning,

I was wondering if could be possible to say Microsoft Outlook in some manner (different than setting it offline, removing the email from outgoing emails and setting it online again), to not send meeting invitations by email to attendees. The reason for that is that a customer of us, is in a non-Exchange env (but using Outlook as mail user agent for the 50% of the users), and their calendaring system sends by it's own directly messages to attendees. Some of the users, access to that calendars from Outlook (and with CaldavSyncrhonizer), but other ones, access to the calendars through the webmail, the Android tablet or the iPhone for instance. We would like to use, a centralized way of sending meeting invitations due to this diversity of mail user agents. We achieve that (the centralization of sending meeting invitations) by using the own calendaring system scheduling feature, so we want to avoid attendees to be receiving Outlook meeting invitation messages (because they receive invitations twice!!, one from Outlook, one from the calendaring system!). By some limitations of their custom made corporate tools (erp, crm...), and the way they integrate with their mail service they can't use Exchange right now.

So, it's possible to set a meeting in Outlook with some attendees but them to now receive the Outlook invitation to the meeting?.

Best regards,

No, you can't not send a meeting invitation.

According to your description, it seems that you want to create meetings in Outlook without sending meeting invitations by emails to attendees, right?

If so, I'm afraid that it is not achievable. Outlook will automatically send meeting invitations by email to attendees when creating new meetings and it is by design, we could not make changes to it.

As I know, for IMAP and POP account, Outlook will not sync their calendars with their mail server. So, in order to make users could be able to check their calendars, please try to subscribe to a Internet calendar instead of manually creating meetings again in Outlook. Please check the information in this article: See your Google Calendar in Outlook and hope this could be helpful to you.
