I have a Microsoft 365 Business Basic account but also got a notification that my Microsoft Teams Exploratory Trial is expiring.

What it the difference between the two accounts and why do I need Microsoft Teams Exploratory?

Will I loose any storage / data?

    Hi @Rykie Louw - EZ - IT Created ,

Microsoft Teams Exploratory Trial is intended for users in the organization who have Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and aren't licensed for Teams to initiate an exploratory experience of Teams. While Microsoft 365 Business Basic is a paid subscription which includes Teams. From your description, it's likely that you've been assigned the Teams Exploratory experience license before, and the paid Microsoft 365 Business Basic license is bought and and assigned to you later.

According to this document, in order to avoid disrupting user's experience, administrator needs to convert Teams Exploratory users to a paid license that includes Teams before the Teams Exploratory subscription expires. Since as mentioned above, you've already been assigned the Microsoft 365 Business Basic license which includes Teams, you should be able to continue using Teams without losing any data/storage.

In case you still have concerns, it's recommended to contact your IT admin for further confirmation and you can share the links below with them if necessary:
