Unable to connect certification profile to Microsoft Learn profile

My certification is due to expire in September this year and i got an email asking me to renew it. I thought why not. Eventhough the certificate is associated with the same account, it asked to connect a certification profile. I selected my work account...typed in password...mfa everything and once done it is back to connect a certification profile. I have done this about thrice with no changes. Any idea about what is wrong?
