I have a document library on SharePoint Online. This library has more than 5000 documents. It was showing in the classic view before but due to some requirement I had to change the setting to modern view. What I found was that most of the filtered views got changed to the modern view but the All Documents view doesn't change to the modern experience. All Documents view has folders and documents in it. It shows perfectly in classic but not in modern. There is no error as such.

    Solution:

We opened a ticket with Microsoft.

Microsoft employee suggested to make another view which was showing in new experience as default view. I had tried this before but this time he suggested to click on Save View option. Then he told me to visit the All Documents view and we saw it in new experience and then again he recommended to click on Save view option. After this the All Documents view started showing in new experience.

How many documents and folders are you displaying in the All Documents view?
SharePoint Online has an unmodifiable list view threshold of 5000 items, which causes performance issues while being exceeded, including unable to switch between experiences.

Before we jump into the conclusion, here are a few things to check:

    1. Navigate to LIBRARY > Library Settings > Advanced settings and switch to New experience for List experience, see if it works for the All Documents view.
    2. Try to reduce the number of documents and folders in this view by filtering on indexed columns or moving documents into folders, see you can switch to modern experience afterwards.
    3. Notice if taking any of these actions (such as moving documents) will trigger the error message.
You can refer to an article here for further information: How to deal with large document libraries in SharePoint Online.
    4. Test in another browser.
