Set max limit for api page

How do you set the max limit for a page returned by api? I am trying to test NextPageUri, but I am not getting enough results to trigger pagination. Is there a way to make the page size 5 events? I am using the Office 365 Management API.

Hi, does your date range cover enough time to trigger pagination? Also, have you looked at this document? If so, let me know and I can research the issue for you.

@James Hamil My range for time is 15 minutes. Realistically, this wouldn't ever come into play unless something went seriously wrong on our client's side of things. And yes, I've looked at that document before. It hasn't really helped me with my issues regarding pagination though. I still have questions on how to correctly get the next page if you could help e with that as well?

Hi Liam! I looked into this issue for you, and it seems like there isn't currently a way to do this. Most likely because pagination is used to prevent timeouts. However, you can suggest a new feature here. What is your use case, and why do you need pagination? I may be able to guide you in the right direction for other options.

@James Hamil Ok, what would you recommend for an app that is querying audit logs every 15 minutes? I want to make sure that if the max record size (5000) is hit, I have a way to recall the api and get the rest of the records that are beyond the 5000 mark. Do you have any ideas for that?

Powershell can work well for that. There are a lot of parameters here that could be useful. This one in particular:

ReturnLargeSet: This value causes the cmdlet to return unsorted data. By using paging, you can access a maximum of 50,000 results.

@James Hamil I can't use Powershell for this, I need to use the Office 365 Management API. Is there anything I can do with the API to get this to work?

@James Hamil Also, if I do hit the max limit for events returned by the api, would the NextPageUri property show up in response.Headers? I tried to do a Console.WriteLine for response.Headers to see what was in there or if it said anything about NextPageUri but I do not have the amount of data returned that would trigger NextPageUri. Would it show up there if I had over the query amount for that one page? This is why I am trying to make the max size smaller because I cannot test this theory unless I can trigger the NextPageUri to show up in response.Headers (if that's indeed what happens).

@Jerryzy-MSFT Can you confirm that there is no way to limit the page size for the amount of events that are returned by the api? If I could do that it would greatly help with my testing.
