Hi,
I am starting to work on SharePoint after a long gap (almost 4 yrs) and was trying to do a very simple thing - Setting up an Internal URL for an existing webapp using Alternate Access Mapping. In other words planning to have a different internal URL for the same public URL - something like this

http://mySPSite Default http://mySPSite
http://xyz Default http://mySPSite

This I did by simply adding an Internal URL.

However http://xyz is not rendering "mySPSite" and throwing an error "Page can't be displayed. Make sure web address is correct".

Is there anything else other than just adding an internal URL to make this URL work?

Thanks

Hi, @Ishank Tomer , after you add a new internal URL for you web application, you need to add a DNS entry in your AD and then edit the binding in the IIS.
