@Az Techie Thanks for reaching out.

    1. Can you please further drill down the error and provide error message? For instance, when you click on enable and if the deployment fails, you can see a similar image as shown below.

Further clicking on the notification, you will be prompted with below screen. Check the Status Message and share the information with me.

    1. Both features are used to manage operating system updates for your Windows and Linux virtual machines in Azure, physical or VMs in on-premises environments, and in other cloud environments. Azure update Management is dependent on Azure Automation and Log Analytics. Whereas Update management center (Preview) is now offered as an Azure service with no dependencies on Azure Automation or Azure Monitor Logs.

Update management center (preview) can manage machines that are currently managed by Azure Automation Update management feature without interrupting your update management process. However, we don't recommend migrating from Automation Update Management since this preview gives you a chance to evaluate and provide feedback on features before it's generally available (GA).

While update management center is in preview, the Supplemental Terms of Use for Microsoft Azure Previews include additional legal terms that apply to Azure features that are in beta, preview, or otherwise not yet released into general availability.
