Good afternoon,
I have some questions about the Datamodel in Excel.
Where is the Datamodel stored on your Laptop?
Or is the Model attached to the file?
If I make a copy or move the file somewhere in the cloud, does it still work?
I created a file and linked different tables with eachother.(created relationships) with power pivot
Another example:
I have 2 different files. I want to create a table with Power Query with data from the first file, and use this table in the second file.
Both files need to be stored in the same location?
If I move one of the files, the connection between the files does not work anymore?

For question 1: Where is the Datamodel stored on your Laptop? Or is the Model attached to the file?
Data model is a way for store data from source in Workbook, you can still using the data model in Excel without connecting to data source.
For question 2: If I make a copy or move the file somewhere in the cloud, does it still work?
Power BI feature is not available for Excel online, you can work with copied file in Desktop Excel.
For question Example:
After adding to data model, the Excel Workbook stored the latest data. If you remove the source file, you cannot refresh data but the data stored in data model is still existed. You can still work with the data in data model.
