Two domains one exchange online

Hello

Our company is going to change its domain but wants to keep keep receiving emails to old domain mailboxes via redirecting them to new domain emails. Is it possible to do it without keeping licenses for both domains?

    You can have multiple domains in the same Exchange Online tenant, and as long as they're "verified", you can assign aliases associated with them to your users/mailboxes. For example, a user can have a user@keyman .com and user@anotherdomain.com addresses, and receive messages directly on both. As long as you add the additional address(es) to the same user/mailbox, no extra licenses are required.

    Can I add custom subdomains or multiple domains to Microsoft 365?
    Yes, typically you can add up to 900 domains to your Microsoft 365 subscription.
    When you add multiple domains to Microsoft 365, you can host any of the services (like email) on any of the domains you've added. When you change your email to Microsoft 365, by updating a domain's MX record, ALL email sent to that domain will start coming to Microsoft 365.

    After accepting multiple domains in 365 -- how can I determine on an incoming email which domain / alias it was sent to?
