Locating the Correct Office Standard 2019 Installer for our License Key.

I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure out where to get the installer for our Microsoft Office Standard 2019 Key.

  • Our key is provided to us via Microsoft's Volume Licensing Service Center, so I know the key is legit.
  • In MVLSC there is a download button however I'm told that I have to use Click-to-Run to install. I cannot use an MSI.
  • The key that we have does not have the MAK or KMS designation.
  • I can download and install Office Standard 2019 with the Office Deployment Tool (downloaded via the link in MVLSC) using a configuration.XML file generated via the Office Customization Tool (https://config.office.com/deploymentsettings).
  • The install will run and complete. But Office will not activate, when I try to manually put the key in via copy and paste from MVLSC I'm told that I cannot use a volume license key. It looks like the Office Customization Tool will only work if I have a MAK or KMS key.

So where in the world do I find the installer for this version of Office?

    Good morning, all, I'm sorry to leave this question. I forgot it was out there.

    We ended up getting this issue resolved. It turned out that the activation key that we received from Microsoft wasn't properly registered in their system. It took a conference call between two departments, the activation department and the volume licensing group to get this corrected. It was a mess, but we got it done and the key started working.

    Good morning, the config file that I used for the original install is below:

    <?xml version="1.0"?>

    -<Configuration ID="eddb9d4d-fc04-4b57-bac1-e6f2384dc8b5">

    -<Add Channel="PerpetualVL2019" OfficeClientEdition="64">

    -<Product ID="Standard2019Volume" PIDKEY="#####-#####-#####-#####-#####">

    <Language ID="en-us"/>

    </Product>

    </Add>

    <Property Value="0" Name="SharedComputerLicensing"/>

    <Property Value="TRUE" Name="PinIconsToTaskbar"/>

    <Property Value="0" Name="SCLCacheOverride"/>

    <Property Value="1" Name="AUTOACTIVATE"/>

    <Property Value="FALSE" Name="FORCEAPPSHUTDOWN"/>

    <Property Value="0" Name="DeviceBasedLicensing"/>

    <Updates Enabled="TRUE"/>

    <RemoveMSI/>

    -<AppSettings>

    <Setup Value="CompanyName" Name="Company"/>

    <User Value="51" Name="defaultformat" Id="L_SaveExcelfilesas" App="excel16" Type="REG_DWORD" Key="software\microsoft\office\16.0\excel\options"/>

    <User Value="27" Name="defaultformat" Id="L_SavePowerPointfilesas" App="ppt16" Type="REG_DWORD" Key="software\microsoft\office\16.0\powerpoint\options"/>

    <User Value="" Name="defaultformat" Id="L_SaveWordfilesas" App="word16" Type="REG_SZ" Key="software\microsoft\office\16.0\word\options"/>

    </AppSettings>

    <Display AcceptEULA="TRUE" Level="Full"/>

    <Logging Level="Standard" Path="C:\"/>

    </Configuration>

    @Emily Hua-MSFT , your XML file is quite a bit simpler than mine. I'll run what you sent and see if I have any better luck. Looking at what I submitted here, do you see any issues with the config file that I created?

    @Marica Khatijah ,
    Could you please share us you configuration file? I would check it, and please note, cover the sensitive information if there is.

    I suggest you try the following steps on one PC to check this issue.

    To install Office 2019 Standard, please uninstall the previous Office first, restart PC.

    Then download the ODT tool, and extract the setup.exe program.

    You may prepare the configuration file and put it with ODT tool in same folder. You could also enter your MAK key in this file, for the PIDKEY in below example, please replace #####-#####-#####-#####-##### with your MAK client activation key.

    <Configuration>
    <Add OfficeClientEdition="64">
    <Product ID="Standard2019Volume" PIDKEY="#####-#####-#####-#####-#####" >
    <Language ID="en-us" />
    </Product>
    </Add>
    <RemoveMSI />
    </Configuration>

    Except activation via XML file, more methods to activate Office via MAK, please refer to "Activate volume licensed versions of Office by using MAK".
    You may change the key by using the product UI, run the ospp.vbs script.

    ----------------------------------
    Update---------------------------------------------------------
    Please make sure your MAK key is entered correctly.

    It's also recommended to run commands to check status of Office on your PC. Then please copy the results and share with us.

    • Search CMD, run Command Prompt as Administrator, enter the following commands, press Enter.
    • cscript.exe "%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office16\ospp.vbs" /dstatus

    Any updates, please let us know.
