U-SQL Programming Improvements to Azure Data Lake Analytics for March 2016

Hello everyone! The Azure Data Lake team is pleased to announce additional enhancements to U-SQL program with this month's update of U-SQL and Azure Data Lake Tools for Visual Studio.

 

U-SQL Language Improvements

We’ve updated U-SQL to make it simpler to:

  • Develop User-Defined Operators (UDOs)
  • Control how data is partitioned in U-SQL Tables
  • Perform data Analytics with Window Functions
  • Etc.

Enhanced Job Details view in the Azure Portal

Now when viewing U-SQL jobs in the Azure Portal, the experience more closely matches what is seen in Azure Data Lake Tools for Visual Studio – including the display of the U-SQL job graph.
