Live Writer: How to create automatic links in your blog
This has nothing to do with my normal blogs, but this is something my teammates didn’t know about. Here is the email I sent out. As
Colleagues!
Sometimes it is nice to be able to simply enter a person’s name and an link to their overall blog is entered automatically. (Or like me you have other blogs that you write that are connected to each other.)
Here is how you do this:
In Live Writer use File Menu Options (do not use the on the Blog Account ribbon, it has a limited number of items)
Then in the Options Dialog box, select Automatic Linking, there are two check boxes, I leave both of them checked.
If you do really long posts then you might want to uncheck the “Link to each term only once per post”.
Use Add to include the Person’s name, as shown, and then their web address, the image below shows the Add Automatic Link with the Advanced component shown as well as the Combo box extended.
If you use the Rel(optional) then that is the type of link that is included, you might want to experiment with them.
Hey now that you read this blog, check out my other blogs
