Whitepaper: Best Practices for the Design of Large-Scale Services on Windows Azure Cloud Services
I just hade some time to browse through and read portions of a new whitepaper that was released and titled: Best Practices for the Design of Large-Scale Services on Windows Azure Cloud Services . It is an amazing overview of core concepts around Windows Azure, followed by best practices that were derived from the engagement with customers, that are running production code on Windows Azure.
So, the whitepaper addresses PaaS or Windows Azure Cloud Services and it will definitely be something for everybody as all core concepts around application architecture are addressed. The best practices go into deep, deep details (i.e. choose short column names for table properties as the metada (properties) are store in-band….), so definitely some things you haven’t though about or just neglected with your application…
If you are thinking or in process of moving your application to run on top of Windows Azure Cloud Services, then this is a must!
