Office System Severs Service Pack 2 (SP2) Installation Failure

When i tried to install MOSS SP2 we got an error as below

 

Report 2007 Microsoft Office System Servers Service Pack 2(SP2) Installation Failure

Tried to enable verbose logging for windows installer and still got the same error

 

Reviewed the MSI log which was found in %temp% with latest date modified  and found the following

I tried to run the installation again and we got an error as above

Then we decided to click on the “What data does this error report contain?” as below

Then we “View the Contents of the error report”

Then Reviewed the Coreserverwwso2_MSPLOG.LOG and found the following

Then we found that that Osearch was in stopping state

- Tried to Stop OSearch using Net stop Osearch and it failed

- Rebooted the server and the we found that the Osearch was started .

 

Ran the SP2 installation and it completed successfully
