IE VPC Images

Just a quick note to let everyone know the IE VPC images will be coming VERY shortly.  Since this is the first time I've had someone else create them, it's taken a little longer than I expected it to.

I hope to have the images online sometime tomorrow, and I'll post once they're up both here and on the IE blog.

Hi Pete, How long will it be before the next functional release? Hmmm... we are now August 20th and the last VPC image I downloaded has expired August 16th. So it's kind of badly needed since we developers have no other ways to test IE6 (on same single machine with Vista and IE7). By the way, I unfortunately have a "french" Vista, can I use an English VPC image? Is there anything forbidding the mix of languages under VPC? Does it really matter? Thanks a lot for your continued support of VPC images with IE6. Unless users can or want to work with different PCs (not always possible), it is the only comfortable way for testing IE6 compatibility on the same machine. This is a still much needed service. Best, Jean

I downloaded the ie6 vpc this morning (8/20).  When I installed, I got a prompt that it will expire on 8/17/2007.  However, it booted up just fine.

Hi Pete,    Do you have a status on the next IE6 VPC?  I have a few developers that use the VPC on a daily bases and they are very concerned.  I noticed that the expiration date has changed on the “Internet Explorer Application Compatibility VPC Image” web page to “This VPC image will expire on December 7, 2007.”   http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=21eabb90-958f-4b64-b5f1-73d0a413c8ef&displaylang=en But the files are still the same with the 8/17/07 expiration date.  Any information would be helpful. -RJ

Pete OK so you are a little overdue on this and it would be nice to have it ASAP. I do however appreciate your efforts. Thanks Tony
