SharePoint Server 2007 and SAP
Now that Microsoft nearly has closed the fiscal year 07 I have already plans to continue our work on Interoperability between the SAP and Microsoft Application stacks. We have indeed (and that includes all my colleagues within the Microsoft team as well as my SAP colleagues) published lots of papers in every section of the Interop space. This leads us to the future where we believe (and see!) that Web Services more and more solve Interoperability challenges. Last examples have been WS-Management adoption in SAP NetWeaver 2004s and Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and published Web Services from SAP consumed in .NET development projects.
During the next months I will concentrate my technical work on more clarification in the Office space including SharePoint Server 2007 (and its interop with SAP), Forms, Business Data Catalogue (BDC), Project Server, Visio and others. This already lead to some publications like the SharePoint Interoperability Web Site on TechNet as well as an high level Interoperability Guide for SharePoint Server 2007 and SAP. An update of our Interoperability Animation between SharePoint Server 2007 and SAP NetWeaver Portal will follow soon. Also we will work with SAP on a joint Portal Interoperability Guide which we hope to finish until SAP's TechEd in September. We have jointly given an ASUG presentation in the CoI (Community of Interest) where we also stated our commitment to this work.
Please also notice improved descriptions on the usage of the BDC in ERP scenarios.
If you have common challenges which are not solved today (described in a whitepaper on www.microsoft.com/sap or sdn.sap.com or discussed in our blogs) please let me know and I will get this on the list of my to do's if of common interest and feasible.

We are currently working on implementing WSS connected with SAP KM. I have tested and used the Windows SharePoint Services Connector for WebDAV that is available, but it is currently only available for Version 2.0 for WSS. I was wondering what the future status of this connector is ? Will there be one for Version 3.0 of WSS or will it not be needed in the future ? Thanks for any info you can supply on this. Thanks, Bryan
